NAMI Helpline

The National Alliance on Mental Illness or NAMI HelpLine is a free, nationwide peer-support service providing information, resource referrals, and support to people living with mental health conditions, their family members and caregivers, mental health providers, and the public. HelpLine staff and volunteers are experienced, well-trained, and able to provide guidance.

The NAMI HelpLine can be reached Monday through Friday, 10 am–6 pm, ET.

Understanding Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) in Rape Survivors

Dealing with the after-effects of rape is a nightmare. The physical hurts can often soon be mended, but it’s the inner pain that people can’t see that takes longest. This resource can help to spell out what PTSD in rape survivors looks like and how to understand the complexity of this trauma response.

Online Therapy

For some, in-person therapy may not be the right option. BetterHelp is an online resource starting at $40/wk, but that also has financial aid packages for those who can’t afford it.

The National Coalition Against Domestic Violence (NCADV)

The nations leading grassroots voice on domestic violence, NCADV’s mission is to lead, mobilize and raise our voices to support efforts that demand a change of conditions that lead to domestic violence such as patriarchy, privilege, racism, sexism, and classism. NCADV is dedicated to supporting survivors and holding offenders accountable and supporting advocates.

The Trevor Project

The Trevor Project counselors are available to support LGBTQ individuals 24/7. If you are a young person in crisis, feeling suicidal, or in need of a safe and judgment-free place to talk, call the TrevorLifeline now at 1-866-488-7386.
