HOW DOES BRANDS DONATING PRODUCT REGULARLY HELP THIS IS JANE PROJECT?
Support across the supply chain demonstrates a steadfast commitment to an industry founded by and for those who use this plant medicinally. Working with committed, ethical brands builds trust for a community in need of safe access and reliable donations. TIJP has become a trusted access point for Janes (trauma survivors was written here previously) in four states and counting.
37% Of American Women consume Cannabis for anxiety relief, chronic pain relief, and better sleep. But most keep it a secret.
(Forbes 03/08/2023)
Los Angeles has 2 million women over the age of 21. 37% of that number is 740,000 potential Janes in LA alone. This Is Jane Project in LA has served 400 unique Janes through the Survivors Without Access program by hosting events over the past 3+ years.
That’s 0.0541% of the community supported.
Our event schedule currently supports an SWA event through a dispensary every other month for 60–100 Janes on average.
Having regularly committed product donations allows us to increase the number of Janes who can participate, giving us the opportunity to expand our mission, vision and cause. By providing a variety of consumption methods is another critical factor. Not everyone can smoke.
And the biggest reason to contribute? Cost.
Demographically, half of our Janes make less than $50,000 a year, and 60% of that number make less than $25,000. Current cannabis prices have skyrocketed due to recreational pricing, heavy taxation, regulatory costs, location, potency, and supply.
Most Janes have to make hard choices on basic needs verses acquiring their medicine.
