One of our longtime partners in this mission is This is Jane Project, an incredible non-profit organization that sheds light, provides community, and uplifts the lives of women and non-binary trauma survivors.
In this interview, we talk about what cannabis community service looks like through a mental health perspective. In order to do that I pulled up with Shannon DeGrooms, director of the This is Jane Project. It’s a California based project, but DeGrooms is from Jersey.
This is Jane Project is a community (both online and in the “real” world) where women and non-binary individuals can gather, connect, and share their stories of hope and healing with cannabis freely,
Cannabis’s rich, centuries-long history as a versatile healer and pivotal part of the broader ecosystem stands as an apt symbol for the strength and resilience inherent in women.

This is Jane Project (TIJP), is a non-profit organization helping women and non-binary people (also known as “Janes”) heal from traumatic experiences through a variety of healing-centered programming, including providing access points to cannabis.
Through their compassion program, Survivor’s Without Access, the leaders behind This is Jane Project use their resources to forge partnerships with important brands in the cannabis space, allowing TIJP members to receive donated medical cannabis when needed.
